Harshan’s Background

Prior to 118 West Consulting Corp, Harshan led solar project underwriting at SunEdison, a company that was a leading global developer of renewable energy projects. During his tenure, Harshan led a team that shepherded projects under development from originations through raising term financing.

Prior to SunEdison, Harshan spent 4 years at Amonix Inc., an early-stage solar technology firm where he led business development efforts to commercialize CPV (concentrated photovoltaic) technology. Harshan got his start in renewable energy at Union Bank of California where he supported the origination, underwriting, and asset management of utility-scale wind and solar project finance transactions. At the bank, Harshan developed an expertise in specialized tax equity financing structures.

Prior to his career in Cleantech, Harshan lived in New York and served as a Senior Equity Analyst at Fukoku Life International (America) Inc., an asset management subsidiary of a Japanese life insurance company. In this role Harshan learned the “nuts and bolts” of fundamental equity research and investing in public equities. Harshan also worked at the credit rating agency Moody’s, supporting a function that ensured consistent debt rating policy standards across the company.

Harshan graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Business Administration from UCLA, and a Master of Arts in Applied Economic Analysis from New York University with a Finance Specialization at the Stern School of Business.
